Eclipse Consulting & Technical Services, Inc. was founded in September 1994 by Daniel Salazar and Robert Perez. We write, install and support the software that clears freight across the U.S. border, and the IBM systems it runs on.

01 · Our story
We started with one problem: paperwork at the bridge.
In 1994, customs brokers in the Rio Grande Valley were still pushing paper. Daniel Salazar and Robert Perez, working close to the bridges in McAllen and Laredo, set out to put entries, invoices and accounting into one system that a broker could run in house.
That system became our ABI customs application, running on IBM Power systems with IBM i. Over the years it grew to cover ACE filings, AES exports, warehouse inventory and cloud accounting, while we kept selling, installing and upgrading the IBM hardware underneath it.
The team is still small on purpose. When you call, you reach the people who wrote and installed the software, not a queue.

1994
Eclipse is formed in McAllen
Daniel Salazar and Robert Perez open Eclipse Consulting & Technical Services to build customs brokerage software for South Texas brokers.
1990s
ABI on IBM Power
Our customs application moves onto IBM Power systems running IBM i, replacing paper-driven entry work with electronic filing.
2000s
ACE and AES
We rebuild for U.S. Customs ACE, adding AES export filings, warehouse inventory and integrated accounting for growing brokers.
2010s
Cloud and hardware
Cloud hosting, IBM hardware sales and upgrades, plus remote support for the PCs and printers around every system.
